If you are cruising up the Thames from Limehouse, you might be interested in the video available of the PLA’s Boating on the Thames website here. Click on the Cruising through Central London link on the home page to see the video. There is also some useful information and reference guides for narrowboaters and cruisers available if you click on the appropriate button to the left of the picture on the home page.
Wallingford is upgrading the mooring facilities by the swimming pool. Mooring is free until 4:00pm, and overnight mooring is available at a charge of £5. Maximum stay is 24 hours. Showers are available free for overnight moorers at the swimming pool. There are local shops and restaurants nearby. (As we understand it, there are no effluent disposal facilities. Water is available from a standpipe in the campsite area, but this is some distance from the moorings. There is no designated rubbish facility, but it may be possible to use the leisure centre’s own facility. If anyone can update this information, please contact us.)

St Pancras Cruising Club Annual cruise to the Royal Docks for the
London International Boat Show-January 2009
Taken from the cruise report to the St Pancras Cruising Club egroup.
Folks,
A note to let you know that the first club cruise of the year got off, quite literally, to a cracking start earlier this week. On Tuesday, Frank and Sue on Lotus No 10 spent several hours trying to leave west London for St P. to meet other boats bound for Limehouse. In the end, the ice proved too much, but thankfully, they managed to return to their mooring safely. Read the rest of this entry »

Capita has been appointed to run the scheme for the H.S.E. starting 1st April 2009. Unfortunately this will involve creation of a new logo. CORGI offered the existing logo, but this was rejected. There will have to be an expensive advertising campaign to roll out the new name. I wonder who’s going to pay for it. April the

Not many people wanted to at 5-30 pm on a Friday evening – not good planning. A developer of the Paddington basin has asked for seventeen more business barges in Paddington Basin, the L.A. have a vested interest in granting planning permission as they receive the rates.
Slough Arm
Several club members went to the slough festival, however the reeds were about 6ft.high and it was almost impossible to moor. BW is talking about mooring 100 boats on the arm I don’t know where. Robin Evans said BW would not allow any development of the basin that would prejudice the construction of a Thames Link.
