Club Profile

Aylesbury Canal Society

The Aylesbury Canal Society is located at the end of the Aylesbury Arm of the Grand Union Canal in Buckinghamshire. The Society was founded in 1971 and was initially based at the terminus of the canal in the centre of Aylesbury.

In 2016 we moved to superb purpose built facilities at Circus Field Basin, just outside Aylesbury town centre.

We are a very welcoming place for boaters with up to 2 weeks free moorings for visitors by arrangement. Why not turn off the main line at Marsworth and come down through beautiful narrow locks to see us. We are located between locks 14 and 15 and there is a "Welcome Boat" for assistance.

The town basin is nearby which also has visitor moorings, Waitrose and easy access to the Town Centre.

Facilities:

We have excellent facilities on site including:

  • Drydock - the covered and ventilated space is centrally heated and accessed by a slipway with electric winch with capacity for boats up to 72 ft in length and 30 tons in weight.

  • Wetdock - this is fully covered, well lit and heating if required.

  • Function room -this is available for hire Monday to Friday with a capacity of up to 120 people. A projector and sound system is available.

  • Dayboat - our dayboat is available for hire every day including bank holidays. 1 hour free tuition in boat handling and lock operation is included.
